The pot was like 16:1, this board is almost as scary as the KQ one, but the KQ one didnt have the flush out it was also HU and a slightly smaller pot.

Against this opponent, this is an especially easy call. I would probably be calling agsint most anyone though.

I think check/call is horrible. He will bet everything that beats you, and check behind with loads of things he calls that you beat.

BLEAUGH.

check/calling this river sucks. I think you only check/call if you are 99% sure you are beaten. He hasn't shown me this yet and my set is probably the best non flush/non straight hand.

He will bet little or nothing that will call, but will bet lots that he would raise.

I agree with you that against this persons legitimate hands betting is far superior to checking, I thought that there might be a way to get another bet from a missed diamond draw.
