Agreed with everything else said. I would raise to at least $3 PF though. (not criticizing your raise, just personal preference)

I made it 12, and called the push. his 94o held up.

I just cant help feeling I should see this coming. It seems like as soon as you realise your TPTK may not be good you're all in or getting odds to call even if you think you might be behind. Can this be avoided with short stacks?

Not if you are going to get stacked when they hit their two-pair, and you hit your A or K. Villain invested an extra dollar for a return of roughly $30. If the villain misses the flop, he's out of the hand. Granted 94o is a little ridiculous... but yeah I agree with previous posters. Make it $3 or $4. I think another issue is, you don't mind one or two players going against you with trash, but with that minraise, you could have had 5 or 6 opponents... was it a really tight table??

Regarding minraises preflop... I usually think of them as protection mechanisms for non-made hands. They build the pot with a favorable drawing hand, but allow you to get away from big bets on the flop, because you have so little invested already.
