Not very. If you want a cheap pokercomputer buy anything new realy. No need to spend even more than $1k.

I dunno, I found it interesting, but I build high end machines for myself. I like that even though most of the people that populate Anandtech's boards build top end beasts, they have shown the poster dual processors are unlikely to be anything but expense and so is SLI. His biggest hit really comes from PokerTracker.
