This was also interesting if only for the historical signifigance...

'A Mexican army convoy rolled into the United States Thursday with food, water and medicine for Hurricane Katrina victims, the first Mexican military operation on U.S. soil in 90 years.'

BTW I'm sure all my fellow 'libs' are very upset that there will be a lower death toll.... Frickin Jackass

as another aside: The Bush Administration dug their own graves on this one. Eating cake and strumming a guitar while a major US city is destroyed was so historically ironic that it's too easy for even the general public not to make comparisons.

Not to mention not too many people like seeing a couple of thousand people die unecessarily while agencies bicker amongst themselves.

Edit Notes: this was in response to OP's original title which is the moral equivilent of sniping at rescuers trying to evac hospitals

Ho hum. More right-wing nutjob spin.

In actuality, we'll never know how many are dead because the Republishams are BLOCKING any PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE of the recovery of the dead bodies!!! We'll never know how many dead people there were because there will be no documentary evidence of it. How deep does the rabbit hole go?

Not surprising. She's an example of the mindset that chooses to live in a BOWL OF WATER.

I thought Matt overreacted to your Google racism post, but this one is disgusting; I see no other word for it.

I found the vicious attacks by Democrats claiming Bush was killing people was disgusting. Do you deny that that happened in the first days of the crisis?

At a time when we should have all been working together to help people, politics was being played in Washington. This was before the facts about what the various officials were doing came out. It was a preemptive non-fact based attack.

We should be glad the death toll may be lower, but we should not forget those who were jumping to take political advantage of a big death toll.
