Seahawks

Somebody please explain why everyone is so high on this team. I'm completely missing it. I think betting every other team to win the division (SF and Arz, yes...) has good value, even though I don't have the heart to bet any of them.

Re: Seahawks

Alexander is one of the most consistent backs in the league; Hasselback had a very good year last year throwing the ball; Holmgren is one hell of a coach. Remember they almost beat GB last year in the playoffs in GB. This team has only improved.

If you pick S.F. to win this division, you'll lose a lot of money.

Re: Seahawks

To put it simple the Seahawks have the best offensive talent/been together ratio in the division with an improving defense. Hasselbeck has been a very good QB over the last year and a consistent QB over the 2 previous years. His receivers have been in the mix now a couple of years with very nice skills. Koren Robinson, Darrell Jackson, and Bobby Engram are not Torry Holt but with the decline of Issac Bruce the 3 wide is likely better than the Rams.

Shaun Alexander is in his contract year. If he is going to make his career money, this is the put up or shut up time and Holmgren is going to give him his chance. He is consistent with large breakout skills, so on any day he can put up 200yards and 3 td’s but he can also give you a consistent 90yards plus a TD. The offensive line is quite good though like St Louis it hasn’t played together yet because of Walter Jones annual hold out. (What is up with LT’s). They are in much better shape on the OL than any other team in the Division except maybe for Arizona. Zona has its own problems though.

On Defense the team was soft against the run. The brought in Wistrom from Stl (Nebraska) drafted Marcus Tubbs (Texas) younger Brother of MLB Winford Tubbs of the NO saints and SF 49’s back when NO had the best Def in the league. The moves may not make it a great D line but definitely serviceable in the division.

Weakness pop up at TE were Jerramy Stevens could be one of the bests at his position if he’d ever grow up. (oddly this seems to be a common problem in the NFL) There is also concern with the loss of Chad Brown at OLB (broken leg), and the backup QB is Senaca Wallace since Trent Dilfer still has a back problem. All in all though these problems are minor compared to the question marks the Rams, 49’ers, and Cardinals have. Remember you don’t have to be better than the entire league just your division opponents.

if "everybody" is so high on them, then usually fading them is not a bad idea. how to do it, is the question.
