Call down with AK?

UTG is 80/30 but I haven't had a chance to watch him postflop. I had raised the past 2 hands, 1 went showdown and I won, the other didn't.

Party Poker 1.00/2.00 Hold'em (6 handed) link

Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls, MP checks, 2 folds, SB completes, Hero raises, UTG calls, 1 folds, SB calls.

Flop: (7.00 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, UTG raises, SB folds, Hero calls.

Turn: (5.50 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets, Hero calls.

River: (7.50 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets, Hero folds.

I planned on calling a non-diamond river.

he is a maniac. don't fold hands like this to maniacs. he didn't need to ahve a draw to raise like that. he could have any 2 cards he feels like raising this is a very, very, very, very bad fold

Re: Call down with AK?

Would this play have been acceptable against an unknown?

Against a maniac go with your gut probably, although I pick a better spot than this. Against an unknown this is a definite fold.
