Syncing Files for Backup?
 

I'm looking to backup my music collection (200gb+) but dont want to purchase some big time backup system. I have an external 500GB on my server that i usually just run a copy/paste on but thats just not write and frags up the HD.

Does anyone currently use a sync' type tool to backup their files? Sort of like doubletake but not so damn expensive?

i found this product, - syncback

any other good ones out there?

Norton Ghost is a very nice backup solution. Runs around $70. You should also be able to run rsync if you are running Cygwin or a comparable toolset (free).

ghost isnt what im looking for, i think...though their new incremental backup feature is of interest.

I'd second the vote for rsync. I use it at work for keeping a synced backup of our main server. Be warned though, rsync is a little on the techie side, being a Unix/Linux command line program (runs on Windows via Cygwin).
