Timeclock software
 

I've been trying to find a simple program to track how much poker I play, but most of the software is unnecessarily complex and requires too much data entry. I just want a "punch in" button and a "punch out button," and then the program tells me I worked 18 hours this week.

Plan B is just an excel sheet with in times, out times, and sums. But that's so inelegant. Any ideas

i think pokertracker totals all table hours, so 7 tables= actual time x7, etc, when you are starting and finishing a session, you may not be on all at one time, try excel.

I guess it depends on if he wants total hours or total man hours. Easiest thing is probably (again, assuming he uses PokerTracker) - write a query against the Access Database that totals time spent playing. Should be pretty easy once you get the min/max/overlap logic thought out, and if you know how to write SQL against Access.

Do you have microsoft access?

There's a button on the sessions tab of PT that lets you see how much "real" time you spent playing, as opposed to just your total table hours (it's the same thing that lets you see your true hourly rate).

On the Session Notes tab, there is a check box for "Show True Hourly Win Rate" which figures out how many hours you played and formulates a MultiTable Ratio which is your average number of tables played over that time. So if you played 70 table sessions, it will tell you you played like 24 hours with a MultiTable Ratio of 2.3 or so.

Although this requires manual timing, how about www.pokercharts.com

I have never used it myself but I believe you just type in your sessions as you leave the tables and it does the rest.
Statking is a better product but probably has too much information for the needs you describe.
