I agree with CMI, we talked about them a little bit. One of the better albums this year. Not great, but very very good stuff. Listened to it quite a bit.

I'll Believe in Anything is probably the "single" on the album and my favorite song, probably.

EDIT: I also like "Grounds for Divorce"

Hrm...Shine a Light might actually be my favorite song...

It's a very strong album overall, it's very good. Get the whole damn thing.

i like this album but I don't think it's as fantastic as it's made out to be. That said, I think "Modern World" is one of the best tracks of the year. Grounds for Divorce and I'll Believe in Anything are also good songs.

If anyone else agrees with me on Modern World, let me know. I thought I was crazy when I listened to this song on repeat.

It's one of my favorite tracks, along with I'll Believe In Anything and You Are a Runner...

All great songs.

I have a hard time getting past the keyboard-ish beats that accompany the songs I have heard so far.

Can't really compare this to any other band, definitely good but not great.

It's like the Doors + modest mouse. i think.

The 2003 EP has a very different take on Modern World. You might want to check it out.

This was probably my most listened to album of the year. Every couple listens through I would think I knew what my favorite song was and then all of a sudden I'd become fixated on a whole 'nother one. By this point you'd think I'd be sick of it, but I still fire it up in my car once in awhile. Solid driving music.

Heh, if you ask me, it's a lot like Bloc Party (to me at least). I seldom listen to Bloc Party now, but I rocked the [censored] out of it for a month or two. Every once in a while, I'll pick it back up and play it, but good music has been released fast and furious this year, so the albums just bump each other off.

At least on my playlists...

you silly faux-hipsters always loving music after it gains buzz and makes all the hip year end lists.

but always good to see quality bands getting attention.

i saw them open before apologies to the queen mary came out and they were pretty solid live. look forward to seeing them again when they headline.

Good man, these are my three favorite songs on the album as well.

I seem to like it more than most. It's in my top 5 of the year.
