do most jobs require drug testing?
 

i am looking into part time jobs and wondering about this... i was looking at UPS package mover or something, would this job require a pre-employment drug screen? thanks.

So, this "looking into" is some sort of new code word for getting really high and dreaming about maybe getting a job? Seems like if you really were going about getting a job you'd just ask the people who know.

ok so google is neat

i think you can decide where you want to work and do a bit of research... figure out if the company drug tests or not. i'd assume UPS has to, because they have people that operate heavy machinery, and if they test one applicant, they have to test em all. but that's just an assumption.

I was going to start drug-testing, but then i offered to perform "special assignments" for myself in order to get out of the testing. Sure, it demeans me as a person, but have you seen this job-market? I need this place.

after doing a little bit of digging around that site, i'd say that those stats should be taken with a grain of salt. unless you can find a couple GOOD entries (it looks like this place just takes submissions from people) that correspond to each other, i wouldnt give any one much weight.

there are two hits for drug testing at the corporation i work for, and in my years, i've never seen them drug test in 3 different states.

so, good resource, but do homework involving more than just this site.

I know...I checked the rather large company I work for and they did not when I interviewed with them last year and was hired. I recently heard through the manager that they will be beginning to but eitherway, I'm aware of the non-exact method of the site.

that website about testing companies seems to be very short on official information, pretty much people saying if they got tested or not.. i was hoping to hear some of the twoplustwo members first hand experience and knowledge.. thanks fellas
