Best poker acomplishment? How long been playing? I've only REALLY played now for 4 months online at PS (played a lot of basement poker w/ my relatives for many years but that stuff is nickel/dime and mostly 7-card and carnival games). My best accomplishment is taking second at Turning Stone ($70 buy-in, weekly Sat tourney). I'm still learning the finer points.

How old are you? Birthday? 31 years. July 28.

Where do you live? Athens, GA.

Are you married? Girlfriend/Boyfriend? Children? Single, girlfriend of 4 years. No children.

Occupation besides poker? Wait tables. I used to play bass in the band Parakeet Nelson. (Check out Chris' new stuff at www.chriscates.com )For you Durhamites and Dukies, I used to work at Satisfaction when I was up there.

If studying, what and where? Not in school. Feel free to badger me to finish my degree. I am also accepting suggestions on choice of occupation. No heavy lifting.

Favorite movie? Top Five today, no particular order: The Empire Strikes Back, Lost in Translation, The Princess Bride, Pulp Fiction, that AMC special about Bruce Lee (which if anyone has a copy of or knows where I might acquire one, or even knows the title, drop me a line.) Office Space deserves an honorable mention: That movie is funny every time I watch it.

Favorite Books: Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, Snowcrash by Neal Stephenson, The Dark Tower: Vols. I-VII by Stephen King, Memory, Sorrow and Thorn (The Dragonbone Chair, Song of Farewell, To Green Angel Tower: Vols. One and Two) by Tad Williams

Best poker accomplishment? How long been playing? My dad taught me the rank of hands. I've been playing seriously since I lost my first $20 in a home game in 2001. On the internet since '03. Playing MTT's since '04
My best poker accomplishment, so far, is winning my seat in the 2005 WSOP ME, in a rebuy with 1 seat guaranteed. Before that, my biggest cash was a 2nd place in a PP $33 for $2575 in June.

I wish I'd known some of you better so I would have felt comfortable meeting you in Vegas. I'm sure there will be other opportunites.

Hey all,

I'm 27. Birthday is Nov. 6.

I live in Philly, and I'm a lawyer. I'm married with no kids, but the 2 year-old beagle is pretty close.

My favorite movie is Glory, with the LOTR trilogy as a close second. My favorite book is Of Mice and Men, and my favorite poker book is HOH1.

I've been playing poker for 5 years, but I've only gotten serious in the past 8 months or so. My best accomplishment was when I won the first MTT I ever played, a 30+3 on Party with 761 entrants, worth a cool $5K (yes, I owe all that to 2+2 books and threads).

Although I am not an MTT regular (more of an SNG man.. but play MTTs frequently waiting for my big score), this thread made me feel all warm and fuzzy. So I thought I'd post.

21 years old.. Born 12/8/83

Live just outside of DC.. moving to Baltimore in a couple of weeks to start law school.

Single, recently broke up with GF of 6 years. =/

Student, paralegal at a DC firm.

Will start studying law at the U of Maryland School of Law in the fall.

Favorite movie is really tough... Godfather II, Donnie Brasco, Pulp Fiction, Mulholland Dr., Hook, Zoolander.. Heh. I have wierd taste.

I've been playing little $5 home games with friends for about 4 years, but started playing online seriously around March. Wow, it occurs to me that I haven't really been playing very long.

My proudest accomplishment (although not my biggest score by quite a bit), because its my only large field MTT win, was beating 2400 suckas to take down a $500 freeroll on Party for a HUGE $70 prize. Wreeeee.

How old are you? Birthday?

Where do you live?

Long Island, NY

Are you married? Girlfriend/Boyfriend? Children?

Not at present

Occupation besides poker?

Systems Engineer

Favorite movie?

I hate this question, it always depends on my mood. But I guess ones that always come up are The Shawshank Redemption, The Usual Suspects, and the Empire Strikes Back

Best poker acomplishment? How long been playing?

I've been playing Poker relatively sparingly for about a year and a half. In that time I had a couple of FTs but the only one where I made it to late FT was a $5+$1 MTT on PokerRoom for second place w/a whopping score of $255.

I work for a defense contractor, but am currently trying to get as far away from government contracting as possible.
Probably going back to school for a PhD in the next couple of years.
Biggest poker accomplishment: winning two limit Friday specials on party in a three week span.
I've played poker almost all my life, albeit sporadically. I've played seriously for about two years and have been profitable for about 1.5 years.
Favorite movie - Hard to say, but I will pick "Fistful of Dynamite" for right now.

I am also pretty proud of the day that I started 4 multis (109 on party, 110 10k on empire, 215 o8 on stars, and 11r 25k gtd on stars) and bubbled in the party one, won the 110 empire for 3000, won the 215 o8 for 7000 and won the 11r 25k gtd for 11000. Winning 3 tourneys all at the same time felt pretty good.
