Need help with Virtual PC

I'm running VPC with Windows 2K on Mac OSX but cannot open internet explorer. I downloaded Stars and copied into Windows through additions but it won't load. It gives me a internet connectivity error message. Does anyone have experience with this and can give me some much needed help.

Re: Need help with Virtual PC

Open the configuration for the win2k image and go to network settings.

Do you have a router?

If you do, set it to "virtual switch". If not, choose the other option (I think it's called shared something).

Run the win2k image, go to control panel and find the network connections window. Right-click the Ethernet connection and click on status. If you have a router, the IP address should be something like 192.168.x.x. I don't have my Mac at home so I can't tell what's the address range if you don't have a router.

What's the error you get when you try to run IE?

(I'm sorry for the vague instructions, I have XP at home and I know win2k is a little bit different, even if both share the same kernel)

Re: Need help with Virtual PC

I tried to connect using shared networking, when I turned VPC to shared networking I got the following message: When using Shared Networking, DHCP is required on your PC. In order to share the Mac's TCP/IP address you must change the emulated operating system's TCP/IP setting to use DHCP to configure its TCP/IP address.

Not sure what this means. What is DHCP and how do I set it on the PC?

Thanks in advance
