You still have 20BB.
He has 10BB
I, me, dr., would not be pushing yet if I were him without a very good A, Maybe KQs, middle pair.
You are only good against the middle pair.
You are a coin flip with two over cards.

I wait till I can lead the betting. fold.
I do not think you are at coin flip stack size yet.

I know for the purposes of discussion the results do not matter.
For the matter of my curiosity they do. Humor me?

dr.

I would be happy to humor you, but I would love some more responces first. I will say that calling is the wrong answer, but pushing feels risky and folding the 4th best hand in poker feels weak. Any guesses what I did?

Six handed I can't see a situation where I'm folding JJ to one all-in. If the cards line up against me so be it.

I'm pushing here.

Villain has position and stack size against him, so he's raising with a higher pair or AK/AQ. Regardless, blinds are still low--there's no reason to risk over half your stack on something like this so early.

Fold--altho, from your reply, I imagine you pushed.

My answer is a mistake. I put call, but I would push. It's not close between call and push, IMO, I was just careless.

The shove like that is very rarely QQ+. You have a significant advantage over his range. Sure there is a good chance he has two overs, but there is also a good chance he has an underpair or Ax.

I, too, am a lazy bastard and only read two-thirds of the choices. Anyway, I doubt he is doing this with QQ+ or even AK (both these ranges people usually play slower than this). Good chance you have him dominated here. By the way, a read would be stellar in this spot.

this is true. people often get greedy with these hands and will raise to 2.5xBB, or even minraise, because they want to pick up more than the blinds. you can't rule out these hands completely, but his chances of having these are significantly lower than a lower PP, Ax or KQ.

I push here.

JJ I think is a clear push. TT is closer but I'd still be inclined to push.
