Unintentionally Funny Movies

I had the pleasure of watching one of my favorite all time stupid movies yesterday. Teen Wolf. Nerdy high school basketball player becomes a werewolf and buys kegs, van surfs, and dominates on the court like no other.

Seriously. There is no other person on earth who plays basketball like Michael J. Fox. Well, maybe no other American. Canadians don't count. Every single basketball scene is so ridiculous that it becomes awesome. My favorite is the ending scene where the main guy from the other team is allowed to stand directly under the basket while Michael J. Fox shoots the winning free throws from his hip, then celebrates by jumping on the fat guy from the team who gives a dominating fist pump.

It got me to thinking about my favorite stupid movies. Have any?

I had this yesterday watching '5000 fingers of Dr T' with my kids. For the last 15 minutes of it, I couldn't stop laughing, it was so obviously gay (I mean there was an obvious gay subtext in the screen action/words/songs/focus), and the kids thought it was great that daddy found their film so funny.

I've never seen it before, and just couldn't believe it. Up until that end, I was amazed it wasn't more famous as a kid's film, cos it seemed so cool (and it is cool, the gay thing is fine IMO, but it just cracked me up), but I could see why by the end some parents might find it disconcerting without being able to put a finger on why.

Freejack, w/ Emilio Estevez, Mick Jagger and Anthony Hopkins. The scenes where good guy Estevez and bad guy Jagger talk tough to each other are some of the funniest stuff ever filmed. Also, you learn how to prepare river rat.

"The Dancing Outlaw"

This was originally created as part of a series of documentaries of fine arts in the Appalachain area. It tells the story of a gasoline huffing hillbilly named Jessco White who tapdances for a living. One of the funniest things I have ever seen, (especially because it's a true story).

To quote Jessco:
"So I held that knife up to her throat and said 'Woman, if you wanna live to see tomarrow, you best be fryin them eggs better than you been a fryin em. I'm tired of eatin sloppy, slimy eggs'"

Dead Alive. I'm pretty sure it was actually intentionally funny, but it was intentionally funny in such a bizarre way that I think it counts.
