At 52/17 I'd believe it.

His VPIP is 52, so it's certainly within the realm of possibility.

Also, why would you move in when you have position? If you're going to play, shouldn't you call so he can continue the charade if he doesn't have a 9?

I would had folded to his min-raise.

I also check the turn pretty often.

That card is about the worst card in the deck, he knows you're very unlikely to have a nine. He seems LAG from preflop stats so he's likely to raise it with a lot of hands, and yet top pair is one of the likeliest hands after the flop. I'd probably check and evaluate here, but it's a tough spot.

Although the right thing to do is fold, I usually push.

I should really do some analysis on the min-raises.

52/17 isnt much of a read. is he passiva post flop, is he agressive, what is ur probable image at the table, have u been caught speeding, are hands generally going to showdown or does everyone beleive each other???? there is a lot of missing info here. with that said, pushing here is bad. if u have some sort of read that villain is FOS then by all mean call and check call river. although i do not regularly play stars, against my model of a random stars NL player i am folding here. also i might bet a litte more on the turn. this bet looks weak and if playing agaisnt a villain capbale of big moves now u arent sure if he is raising b/c he can beat KK or is he raising b/c u bet weak.

Villain does not have a high aggression rating. That said, people w/ stats this awful tend to make bad plays postflop often I find.

Betting any more on the turn will basically commit me with the hand I have, I feel.

Re: 2/4 KK 9s pair on turn.

i understand what u are saying, but a bet of 110 shows substantially more stregth than a bet of 80. i would feel better about folding to raise when i made a bet of 110 than a bet of 80. fwiw i dont play full ring, but those stats are bad for 6 max, so i can only imagine how horrible this guy is. hmmmm. maybe there is a case for checking the turn, but this is not something i do often oop unless villain is to agressive for his own good.
