4/8 at Canterbury

Next time that I go play the 4/8 game at Canterbury I want to buy in for $200. Should I get one rack of yellow chips($2) or two racks of blue chips($1)? I don't usually see people buy in for this much but I have seen yellows being used in the game.

They only play blue chips at 4/8, once you hit 6/12 they start using yellow.

People may have yellows, but the dealers will change them out right away if somebody puts them in play. 4/8 is a blue chip game. Make those pots look big for the gamboolers.

The best thing to do is just go to your seat and give the chip runners your $200. They'll do the right thing. There's no need to buy chips early.

1) Give the cute girls at the board your name.

2) Wait, but do not buy chips and stand around the front like a dork.

3) Get called and go sit down.

4) Put $200 on the table.

5) The chip runner will arrive shortly, take your money and bring you two racks of blue.

6) Tip the chip runner a buck.

7) Take off those sunglasses, they make you look like as much of a dork as those guys with the chips, waiting for a game.

I think they even tried it for a bit and it didn't go over well cause the pots looked small - so back to blue chips -

When I play the 4/8 there I buy in for at least 2 racks of blue. I've bought in for 5 racks there before no problem. I like to have a lot of chips at the table so I never feel shortstacked and let that affect my play.
