Need some advice from HDTV folks...

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...;sku=s452-2700

Is this any good, especially for the price? Remember the price is in CDN dollars, so lop off a couple hundred...

I need a new tv and don't know where to start. Thoughts?

Price looks good but...

I've never heard of the brand so that counts it out for me.

I was in circuit city the other day and there was a 27" LCD tv from Apex for less then 1100. I'm not a fan of the brand, but i have to say....the picture was pretty damn good. If you have one near you I would recommend you take a look. I wouldnt buy a tv without first seeing it in action.

Do you need LCD? Circuit city has a panasonic 32" HDTV for about $800, it's bulky, but has a great picture.

Yeah, unfortunately I do. I'm in an 800-sq foot condo with a closet for a living room.

No way there is a panasonic 32 LCD for 800. Plus LCD = thin by design. Can't be bulky. I just checked the website and the 32 inch LCD is around 3300. The 800 dollar one is just a regualar flat tube.

Google is your friend:

That being said, I'd be more concerned about ordering from Tiger Direct than the manufacturer.

rp lcds are still thin. if you want a flat panel please god don't order it from tiger. they are a refurb haus.
