WSOP2005 (Main Event) Prize Payouts?

WSOP2005 (Main Event) Prize Payouts?

Anyone know a web address to get the prize payout schedule?

Anyone know how many players are signed up, or how many there will be by the time it starts?

The nuber of entrants is changing constantly, but 2 weeks ago when I was in Vegas, they said they already had 2,500 entrants, and this was almost a full month before the start date. From all acounts, the event will be capped out at 6600 entrants; you will have to wait and see what the prize payout structure will be. I have heard that first place will get between 8 and 10 million dollars, probably 10 million.

I would take the top tier from last year and multiply by 2 or 2.5

If 6600 play, 20% for first would be around $12.5M (after taking out the house & staff %).

Not sure if they would go much below 20% for first.

I think the number floating around was actually pretty low - somewhere in the 7.5 million range for first if they had 6600 entries. However, the spin would be that every person made the final table would be a millionaire (obviously, this means a flater payout at the top).

No. Take the same structure and multiply by 2 and 9th would get $940K. Multiply by 2.5 and everybody would be millionairs (but 10th would not). The structure can stay the same.

And $7.5M for first would be 12% of the prize pool. I just can't see them flattening it that much.

This is just a rumor of course, but a dealer at Lucky Chances told me last night that there are already 8500 paid entrants for the WSOP ME, that they are expanding the first round from 3 to 4 days to accommodate up to 8800, and first prize would be over $14 million.

Just a rumor of course.....

I actually heard that rumour, too, out in Vegas last week. Heard it a few times. I didn't have any proof, though, so I didn't mention it.
