A bit read dependant. One of those I know he knows that I know that he knows things. If he's smart enough to know what he should be pushing, then you clearly have a green light to call here. Yet if he's a tighty, only pushing the top 20%, then it's more marginal. Assuming I've been watching football, and not paying attention to him, I'd give him the credit for pushing what he should...I'd call quickly.

an example:

If he puts you on a calling range of 44+,A7s+,A9o+,KJs+...he should be pushing any two.

If he's pushing any two...calling with 55+,A7o+,A4s+,KTo+,K9s+,QTs+ is +$EV. Specifically, 88 is a whopping +3.9.

~~~~~~~~~~
If he's only pushing 33+,A4o+,A2s+,KJo+,KTs+ (20%)...your 88 becomes a $EV wash - 99+,AKo,AQs+ becoming your range.
You can see how BOTH his pushing range, and the calling range he puts you on in determining his pushing range are key.
This is where situations like this become easier calls KNOWING your up against a "solid" player - where one less-skilled might be waiting for a top-20% top hand, despite/regardless of putting you on a proper calling range.
call. if he is pushing 22+,A2s+,A3o+,KTs+,KJo+,QJs its a call. A good player should be pushing even more making a call even more +EV.
