Party 50nl (6 handed) - KK hand vs. SS

The villain has poor hand selection preflop, and is shortstacked. I made a decision preflop, that I would get all my chips in the middle due to the villain's short stack and wide range of hands he would call with preflop. The ace on the flop did concern me, however, as I've seen the villain call raises before oop w/ace rag. Did I make a mistake by not pushing the flop? After his small turn bet of $2, I was pretty sure I was beat, because he only had $1.90 left and didn't go allin, but I was willing to put him allin for the rest since there was $19.75 in the pot. Would anyone fold this at any point in the hand?
