What are the Best soundtracks you have?

Okay, I'm doing this in case I'm missing something, but here's mine:

Twin Peaks - so beautiful
Blade Runner - see above
Gladiator - see above above
Hannibal - I'm a pleb, and include this for 1 track, a piece of opera that Hannibal sees out in the fresh air. It is stunningly beautiful, and for that alone, I'm including it in mine. Dunno who wrote it, dunno what it's called, dunno what it means.

so, tell me, anything you can recommend?

Anthony Hopkins wrote that, if you're talking about the one in "Hannibal," and he didn't if there's some other movie of that title.

I like Platoon, Pulp Fiction, and the LOTR soundtracks.

Blade Runner
Trois Coleurs - Rouge

I'd put Magnolia except for the travesty of having Supertramp on it.

a qualification

I think we should differentiate between true soundtracks - music written expressly for a film (ala Blade Runner) and compliation soundtracks made up of a bunch of previously recorded songs (Pulp Fiction, Garden State)

what do you think?

I'm not going to go through every post, but i'm sure both pulp fiction and garden state are mentioned.

but, surprisingly enough, Clueless- great soundtrack, also "Songs from teh Capeman" which was a terrible broadway play but all the music is by Paul Simon....good [censored].

Re: What are the Best soundtracks you have?

probably "The Power of One" - an film about South Africa - several tracks later ended up being reused for the Lion King.

Kay, I've hit the twilight zone. I listened to these on the way to work, really digging them, and they inspired the OP...

And I'm listening to 'Feeling Bad Blues' by Ry right now...
