Power of aggression + Have you ever made this mistake?

So I have 4 tables going and called in late position with what I thought was a pair of 6's, BB raised 5 others called.
Flop came up 10-6-2 I raised in late position and bb 3 bet I capped. Turn was nothing BB Bet out utg called I raised BB folded UTG called. River ace UTG bets i raise he thinks and calls showing a-10. Im thinking yeah won a big pot. Nope i loose turns out I had a pp of 5's. BB had folded pocket aces. Table thought I was crazy. Never told them thought i had trips. Boy I got a lot of action after that and my raises meant nothing. Still cant figure out how i could make that mistake though.

But it sure showed the power of aggression or stupidity:).

yeah, you have to watch the misreads. no offense intended, but that one was pretty big.

i've thought i had a flush and then realized, oops that's a club, not a spade.

Another popular one is to flop four to a straight, then pair one of your hole cards on the turn and think you've made your straight.

But you did the important thing right, you didn't say "oh gosh, I thought those were 6's," or just muck your hand. With some luck you can win back your money, or more, from the accidental advertising.

Its a crappy feeling.

Rub some dirt on it and play the next hand...

How about playing at a home game - when you 'read' someone to be on a particular draw - and they hit it on the river......only you misread the river card and go all-in thinking they missed... sucks

move on. happens.

Sorry but I disagree with the others who suggest putting it in the past and moving on.

Something like this is symptomatic of a bigger problem in concentration (or lack thereof), as well as problems in your thought methodology during the hand. You saw a set of Sixes and figured they were automatically good. Sounds like you may not have considered that the opponent may have had a set of Tens. Had you thought about it a little more, possibly you would have relooked at your hand and noticed the error earlier.

You pissed away what, about 4 or 5 big bets. That's an hour of expectation gone. Actually more like two, because you have to win it back and then some to make up.

Better to multi-table only 2 tables and make zero errors with sound thought methodology, than multi-table 4x and make this or similar error one time per session, and not be properly thinking the hands through.

Here's a (probably common) one: I had QQ and was called by someone who thought his 44 was AA

I saw this one at my local casino a while back:

Two players got into a raising war on the turn and a heads-up all-in raising war on the river at a 4-8 table. Board is Q J T 6 2 rainbow. Local 20-40 pro waiting for a seat turns over the "obvious" AK for Broadway. Wackjob turns over QQ and says "ship it!"

My roomate once sat down for his whole bankroll (100$) at a 100NL table. The first hand he plays he gets 88 and tries to type in '4' to raise to $4 but instead types '444' and pushes all in. Player next to him calls lightning fast with A9...anyway flop is 8 8 3 ....
