How much $$$$?

My buddies and I are getting a game together. We're prolly gonna play once a month with a buy in of $40-50. No repeat buy in. Figure on 6-8 players. We'll be playing LLHE. What would be appropriate blinds, and ante, if any, for this amount of cash?
TIA
Russ

Assuming LLHE= Low Limit Holdem
Then you should probably play 1$/2$. With 50$ish buy ins that gives everyone 25 big bets which is enough to last a good amount of time.

Thank you Seether. We don't want it to last til the wee hours or affect anyones mortgage payment. Though we still want foolish play to sting. Just serious fun.
Thanks again.

Assuming you are not doing a tournament, then anyone could leave whenever they needed to. THat's the beauty of a ring game.

If it is a tournament you want to set up, then do a search on this forum and you will see countless setups for home tourneys. You can give everyone 1000 in chips to start with 10/20 blinds and go up every 20 minutes and so on.

Just want to be clear on what type of setup you are looking to do before giving any definitive advice.

if the game is pretty tight or passive then 1/2 should be ok, but if its loose or aggro then .50/1 would probably be better imo...

I say that .5/1 is better if the players are loose. If you play 1/2, the only other reasonable limit if guys buy in for $40-50, you will have to deal with too many re-buys.

BC, it would just be a ring game. The only one not allowed to leave would be the chip leader.:D Maybe .5-$1 is a good way to start. We might eventually want to do a tournament for fun. Thanks for the info.
