If you're going to be a stickler for the rules, why are you letting opponents show only you their hand?

Tell you the truth I didnt even look at his hand. I was watching a girl walk buy. So he said look, I was looking away and didnt see. He was showing me because he said he got the hand just before and wanted to show his bad luck. Either way i wasnt watching or i would have seen the other gentleman stair. Not like i spoke up i just thought the guy was a bit scummy for trying to sneak a peak while still being involved. We called him Don Everest the rest of the night...

He didn't mention what part of the hand it was and I guess I assumed it was at the end.

Probably not, spelling is good but bringing in business will get money and power much faster..... So while I sometimes error in spelling the fact that I could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman wearing white gloves makes me practically irreplaceable.... Also knowing a few higher ups doesn't hurt either....

So you can sneak a peek, but he can't?

Just curious as to what the offical rule is.
Last week while at the foxwoods this situation occured.
After I had folded my hand, the opponent to my left showed me his hand as he was about to muck.

What we didnt know was that the player to his left purposly looked over his shoulder and saw the cards.
When asked he at first denied it altogther, but after badgering by the dealer he admitted seeing the cards.
The dealer than warned him and showed the table the mucked cards.

At first I did not care what happened but the more I think about it the more I believe further action should have taken place.

Thoughts? Let's discuss...

Thanks in advance
