heads up on the end

i have had some trouble with finishing out my tournaments with regards to heads up on the end. i either am against the maniac who goes all in every hand and makes it pure luck or against the slow patient player waiting for you to make a mistake and then pounces. i get impatient which i know i need to work on. any advice to playing against these types of players or links to some threads. i'm sorry i know it's probably been discussed i just wanted to state my specific situation.

Be the maniac. Atleast if the blinds are as high as they usually are when you come heads up.

Re: heads up on the end

At the end of a sit n go the blinds are usually so high in relation to your stack that being a maniac is the generally the way to go. You can't raise proflop without pushing or you cripple yourself. So loosen up your hand selection and get your money in from the small blind whenever you may have the best hand headsup. I.E. any strong A or K, pairs, big suited etc. On the BB just play it by feel, if the other guy limps you may see a flop or if you have a very strong hand you may push. If he pushes all-in to you you have to think about calling with some hands you might not usually call with, but may very well be better than the "maniac's" hand.

Good luck,
Matt
