Longest Run without AA or KK

I'm guestimating that I'm on a run of about 5,000 hands without either.

i'm sure there are some of you that can top that?

Firstly, "guestimate" is a horrible, horrible word in any context...

As for you run of cards, mathematically, it's extraordinarily unlikely that such a run can last so long...

The odds of not getting AA or KK in 5000 hands is on the level of approximately .000000000000000000018 percent of happening... or something around there...

And I myself can't say I've gone so long without seeing one of these hands...

Re: Longest Run without AA or KK

mathematically you should get aces 1/221 hands (it's 1/13 * 3/51).... and aces OR kings should be every 2/221 hands, which simplifies to about 1/111.... so to say you haven't gotten either in 5,000 hands (45 times the length you should normally have to wait) is highly unlikely.

what is very likely, however, is you have actually gotten both several times and have forgotten.

The 5,000 hands is based on about 100 hours of B&M play + 100 online. Mind you the clock is ticking and the number is going up. Just one of those freakish things I guess. I understand the mathematically improbabability of this but people win lotteries at 10 million to 1, nothing is imposible. Believe you me I would prefer the run to end trust me.

We can do all the mathematics we want but one crucial fact remains - THAT SUCKS MAN!!!!!!!

Hey guys, the most amazing thing just happened

I got Qc 2c , then 4h 8c, then 7d 4d (true story)
what are the odds of that!? I think mathematically, the probability of this happening again , in the next 100 000 hands or so, is very low!

Re: Longest Run without AA or KK

If my calculations are correct, the odds of that happening are approximately 2 300 000 000 : 1 against, so in all likelihood I won't ever be seeing such a streak again

Jesus! 5000 hands in 100 hours thats about a hand a minute at B&M! Where do you play? The casinoes I play are so damn slow. But I must say that is strange, since statistically you get AA or KK every 100 hands.

I get those cards all the time. its not that uncommon. I get Qc 2c one every 800 hands or so, same with 4h 8c, 7d 4d.

I think you misunderstood. He wrote "100 hours of B&M play + 100 online."

I think you misunderstood. He was talking about getting exactly those hands, in exactly that order.

Or maybe I misunderstood, and you were just joking.
