Back to the basics (Part 1)

I find that I encountered situations like this fairly often. I'de like to start posting some of these more common situations to try to uncover leaks in my game and hopefully others can learn as well.

5 handed
(UTG) 2,000
(CO) 2,000
(Button) 2,000
(Hero) 2,000
(BB) 2,000

blinds 50/100

folds to hero with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
lets assume that this is a $50+5

I usually would limp in this situation. I don't really want to play a big pot out of position. He knows you are going to try to steal. If he does raise your limp, I would let him have it, but I would be more inclined to limp reraise him in the future.

5 players and everyone has a playable stack. Wierd. I think you gotta raise. Raise with any two.

Limping is bad. Limping sucks. Raise, especially with a huge hand that A6o is... (somewhat kidding), but you've really got to raise here and take down t150 in blinds 50+% of the time.

Limping doesnt "suck", sometimes I would do so depending on my opponent. However against a random/tight player I would raise to about 250-300. BB effectively has to now risk 2000 to win the 350 if they want to raise, which is hard to do with any random BS, and one ace is dead.

folding is weak, and an aggressive player will often raise you if you complete and sometimes come over the top if you raise. I definitly like curtains line of reasoning though:
"BB effectively has to now risk 2000 to win the 350 if they want to raise, which is hard to do with any random BS, and one ace is dead."
