Field position and time remaining matter, obviously, but I run the screen so I can get a manageable down and distance on 4th down. Either way, the average NFL pass completion gets 7 yards, so two straight up passes don't figure to do it for us.

It depends on the defense. If you are facing a heavy blitzing team like the Eagles on 3rd down, it has a higher % of being correct. Honestly, I think a QB draw would work better at times. But yea, in general it's a bad move. I should know, Dan Reeves was famous for doing this when he was in charge of the Giants.

You can't just forget the running game when you're talking about Vick. That's just unfair, you can't just take someone's failures and not count the good stuff. 9 carries for 18 yards, what other QB gives you that double threat?
