Reccomend me a cheap(ish) holdem table

So I need to buy a new table as my roomate moved out and took one of ours with him. We used to have two of these:

and they worked fine for what we needed. I was thinking about getting a holdem sized table instead of another one of these. Are any of the ones on Ebay between 150-300 any good? I found a thread w/someone that bought one, but they didn't follow up.

So, anyone that's bought a holdem table in my price range tell me if it's good.

Also building one is out of the question.

Thanks!

I bought this one. I wouldn't recommend it. It was cheap, in every sense of the word.

I've played on one of those. It just felt wrong.

If you want a GOOD table, I'd recommend hitting Scott Keen's forums and seeing if someone there lives nearby you and would be willing to build one for you.

You might try placing an ad in your local paper. I've been playing for about a year, and I know 3 guys who make tables. Two make the hand-crafted wood, octagonal tables, and one who makes the elliptical, padded, hold-em table. Their tables are every bit as good as the pricier tables you'll see online (the ones that go for $800-$1,000+), for a lot less: $250-$400. I've even seen tables for sale at local shops, like at the place I take my car in to get fixed.

That tells me that you have local guys making tables because of their own interest in poker and their skills. The guys I know can't unload their tables, and are trying to sell them cheaply. You probably have local people where your at that you're not aware of. Why not place an ad looking for a new or used table?

By the way, if you're in the southeastern Wisconsin area, I can give you the names of a couple of guys who make tables.

I don't think I'll place in ad in the paper, but I am in the chicago area for a week or so if they'd be willing to meet halfway and I like their offer.

Feel free to PM info.

Thanks for the help guys; keep the ideas comming.

If you're in the Chicago area I would recommend pokerprotables.com (for the record, I am not affiliated with this site in any way). I originally found them on Ebay. They custom built a 3.5' x 7' table for me and I am very happy with it.

Wow, that looks exactly like what I'm looking for, Wad!

How long do you think it would take before I could get my table? I need it in like a week or a little more.

Also, how is the quality of the table, felt, and rail? It's kinda hard to tell from the pics.

Do you have a phone # for this place? The website is pretty lo-tech.

Thanks!

They had mine done in less than a week, probably about 3 days. I was impressed with the quality of the felt, rail, etc. My table gets quite a bit of use and it's holding up very well. If I'm not mistaken there is a place on their website to email them. They respsonded quickly when I contacted them so I would suggest that. I'll dig around though and see if I still have their phone number.

Edit: You can also look on Ebay, their name there is pokerprotables
