8/16 Bellagio Monster Draw

My usual game is a bit higher and more aggro so sometimes I have trouble adjusting to typical players in these games. That said, I had no read on vilain in this hand except that he was young and had not played a hand in the orbit or so since I joined the game (I hadn't played one either).

EP limper, Villain raises in MP, SB folds and I call in BB with:
A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Flop is:
K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
I bet, EP folds, villain raises, I 3-bet, villain 4-bets, I call.
Turn is:
2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
I check, villain checks.
River is:
6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
I bet....
What do you think villain's range is here and how is my play on all streets?

I don't think he's gonna fold much other than the Q9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], pot is way too big.

check call rather than bet but check folding is prolly best. This is a situation where villain will bet more hands than he will call with that you beat. If you had a Q high flush draw, betting would be correct as you might get him to fold his A high flush draw

villian probably got crazy on the flop with three fours and is now thinking he might be beat when the turn card came given the flop action. you're going to get called.

So the 2h just made hero's hand? I doubt villain is scared w/44 after the turn puts down a complete blank

I don't see most players calling with ANY hands I beat. In fact, if we assume he's reasonable, there are very few hands he could have that I beat REGARDLESS. This was a bluff/defensive bet.

defensive against what? What hand folds on the river for your bluff to succeed? I'd check call over betting out but check folding is still your best play

Its hard to trust hero's instincts when he cannot give the correct casino the hand was played in (sw). The Wynn's nittier version of 8/16. That being said, villains hand wreaked of AQ after the check on the turn. I also must note since i was in the game (vm I strangely forgot to mention this), the last hand hero was involved in was with another young lp in which he got into a raising war on the flop w/ a huge draw. As the battle began in this hand the lp asked vm(quite out of line I might add, since he was not in the hand)if he "was raising w/ another draw." This might have colored villains response to the aggression and also screwed up hero's read (Im not sure you heard the guy).

I like the bet in a live game due to the fact that if you are called you can show your hand... I think the only hand you get to fold here is AQ.
