Difficult flop play with top pair

Partypoker nl25, Villains are both ~35/8.

I've been at the table for about an hour, Villain #1, we'll call him SadSack, has been at the table the whole time in seat 3 and is fairly active postflop, esp. w/ position. I haven't seen him do too much out of line in EP. He has $74.20 Villain #2, we'll call him Spirit Crack Rock or SCR, hasn't shown down anything except a flopped set/turned boat against one of the weaker players. He has $58.75. I have $45.05. He's in the 3 seat. I'm in the 6.

SCR's button, I'm UTG w/ A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and make it $0.90 to go. Folds to sadsack who makes it $2 flat. SCR cold-calls, blinds fold, and I call for implied odds.

Flop (~$6.20): 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I'm pretty happy, as I've flopped top pair top kicker. I lead for $2.00, SadSack calls, and SCR thinks for all of his time, minus about 5 seconds, and makes it $6.50.

What is my play here? I will post results in a few hours.

Also, I forgot.. SadSack always types all in caps.

Flatcall here to disguise your hand. You likely have the best hand on this flop and are beating stuff like A7, A8, or any 9 with a worse kicker than you. This is a lot of hands.

I would try checkraising the turn. Try and get your entire stack in the middle.

I would prefer a push all in as it may get a hand like TT to fold. And if hecalls he probably has the naked ace, which you are ahead of.

I never thought of this but it's definitely another good line to take. Try to represent the flopped straight flush. You may even want to type "I FLOPPED STR8FLUSH" into the chatbox before you raise.

I think you can get a discount here by raising to $20, with a plan to call a flop re-raise, and to open-fold the turn if he flat-calls. A call is much scarier than a raise here.

I think all the plays so far are very interesting, although each has a small flaw, IMO.

For example, what if he has one of the straight flush cards? How can I represent the straight flush?!
