Getting tricky with queens

3 handed other two players at the table are both tags. Although one is on the laggy side. The play thus far has been VERY aggressive to say the least. Villian in this hand is the more solid of the two. Perhaps one of you bastards;)

Villian opens on the button, SB folds, I call in the BB with queens.

Flop comes 10 6 3 rainbow

I check raise villian smooth calls.

Turn 3 I bet villian raises I three bet villian calls

River comes blank

Bet call

As for the hand, as long as you don't do this every time, well played.

yea table selection was awful.

but it was more or less just to play some with better players and try to get better. Anyone else ever do this?

So why would you smooth call from the BB then CR the flop? It's the same amount of bets as three-betting preflop then betting the flop.

Re: deception.. 3-handed, the amount of hands you should be threebetting his steal raises with is plenty of camouflage in itself.

So villian thinks his hand is best and plays it accordingly.

If we are assuming villian is TAG, wouldn't that limit what hands he is putting the hero on because hero didn't 3bet pf? I.E. villian may think, "He didn't 3bet pf, so he can't have an overpair". And using this occasional line we can extract multiple bets on the big streets when the villian "knows" his top pair is good.

Again by no means is this standard, just mixing it up.

If by "tricky," you mean standard, then yes.

It's ok for variety's sake, but I think you might want to extend the deception beyond the flop and get in more bets on the big streets.

You're telling me that flat-calling a TAG button raise with QQ is your SOP?

3-handed it is one of them.
