New Orleans poker

Anybody know where the nearest mid-limit B&M games are (say 10/20 and above, though 5/10 would be okay) for those of us who are in the Crescent City and waiting for Harrah's to reopen?

I just spent the day at Boomtown in Harvey playing 3/6 and while it was fun taking money from people who were seeing nearly every flop, I'd like to be playing higher limit games.

And has anybody heard any info/rumors about when Harrah's in New Orleans will reopen? From what I heard, the damage to the casino was minor but they need some sort of approval from Orleans Parish before reopening.

Have you checked Lake Charles, Baton Rouge or Shreveport? A much longer drive, but Tunica, MS, offers a lot of choices.

I went to the Quarter on Sunday and the roof of the casino is damaged and the front entrance where the valet is looks like it collapsed. There were dozers and Bobcats under the awning picking up tons of broken bricks laying all over the drive way. There were also pallets of what looked like paint and drywall buckets at one of the side entrances. Looted? It didn't look like they were ready to open anytime soon.

Sad...

Last Thanksgiving Day weekend I took the Southern Cresent from Philly to NO and spent a week there and Gulfport/Biloxi...

Was a great time - It will never be repeated IMO.

I was just down in NOLA and the word that I heard is that Harrah's is planning on opening mid Feb or so. Feb 9th was a specific date that I heard.

In the meantime go crush the 2/5 NL or the 15/30 Omaha high games at Boomtown.

Re: TUNICA HAS LOTS OF OPTIONS?

Nice story.......but what options does TUNICA really have?
a couple of 10-20HE games, 2-4 20-40 games, 1-2NL, a assortment of white chip holdem, and who can forget 1-5 stud? (some hi-lo omaha). Where is the 40/80 games? Or the red chip stud games?

Tunica has more games than New Orleans did before the hurricane. It's not vegas, but it's better than anyting within 1000 miles of New Orleans.

Did those just get started at Boomtown? I've played there a few times as an escape from Harrahs, and all they've ever had was donkfest 3/6 holdem.

Here's an article from today's Times-Picayune on the status of Harrah's and its possible re-opening.
