AK hand

Perhaps to get more poker related discussion, I'll post a hand. It's not too sexy, but it's a common situation that I'd like to understand better.

Party Poker 15/30 Hold'em (9 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG+1 raises</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, MP3 calls, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, UTG+1 calls, MP3 calls.

Flop: (10.66 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
UTG+1 checks, <font color="#CC3333">MP3 bets</font>, Hero ...

I'd like a plan for the rest of this hand, starting with a flop decision.

Reads: I have 56 hands on MP3, stats of 29/11/2.6; hasn't done anything noteworthy to this point. I have 78 hands on UTG+1, stats of 24/15/1.1; doesn't go to showdown often.

Re: AK hand

raise the flop for a free card (and because you might be ahead, might kick utg out, etc.).

check the turn.

fold the river ui.

Re: AK hand

raise the flop for a free card

he got bet into by a player (appears aggro) who saw him 3-bet an UTG raise and a cold call.

he gets 3-bet here on the flop a large % of the time. UTG is usally drawing thin to our cards (or ahead, which he will 3-bet also). i think i call and see what turn brings.

i would call and likely fold the turn.

Flop action; turn decision

Usually I just call in a situation like this, but I occassionally raise just to mix things up a bit. I felt this was a reasonable time because (1) I have two overs if I am up against a medium PP, (2) betting into a blank flop like this is suspicious, and (3) since the EP raiser didn't cap preflop in a 3-way pot, I think it's less likely he has AA - JJ.

I'm not sure this was a good decision, but it's the one I made. UTG+1 folded and MP3 called.

Turn is the 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. MP3 checks. Hero...

Checks the turn.

turn action; interesting (?) river possibilities

I think the turn is a clear check. There's a good chance I have a weak draw, and even when I am ahead I may be bluffed off the pot if the villain has a T or J and decides to semi-bluff raise with his two overs + straight draw.

So I check and the river is the 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], making the final board 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] - 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] - 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

What's our plan for MP3's two possible actions?

(A) If MP3 checks, hero...
(B) If MP3 bets, hero...

Re: turn action; interesting (?) river possibilities

the whole problem is your hand layed face up when you check the turn.

Yes, and I have no idea how villain will react to this knowledge (or even be certain he will pick up on it).

What other lines do we like for this hand?
Call the flop and fold the turn?
Call the flop and raise the turn?
