KK
Villain is a tight player who has not made much noise for a few orbits.
Stacks: Hero has 167xBB Villain has 80xBB (UTG) Hero gets dealt: K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Villain is UTG and raises 4xBB. I just call as I am directly after him. Button calls, blinds fold. Flop: J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG bets pot, I flatcall, button folds. Turn: 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG: bets 1/4 the pot. Hero? |
Re: KK
pre-flop, i raise
flop i raise turn i raise honestly, how are you going to define his hand if you don't raise? i mean by the turn here, i could put villain on any number of hands... missed ak.. aa, qq, 10's? call pre-flop isn't so bad in this spot i guess, but a raise on the flop is probably the best way to go about it. |
Re: KK
Agreed, a raise on the flop is needed... The PF call is ok given the position.

Re: KK
I disagree with the advice above.
The best line is check-call all the way down, value bet the river if checked to, folding to a check raise. This is a way-ahead way-behind situation. This board is about as scary as a cheese sandwich, the only reason to raise the flop is to avoid an AK/AQ sucking out. But if this is the case with only 3 aces left its only about 6%, ie disregard it. By raising you'll possibly lose double on every street against AA and JJ if you're behind, and you'll probably win LESS off QQ; on this drawless board he's not liking QQ if you raise, and a good player would fold it...or certainly not give you as much action on later streets. And remember that if he has AK/AQ, he's got almost as much chance as much chance of hitting his kicker to then lose a load, as he has to hit his A. |

I just call as I am directly after him. [/ QUOTE ] Why do you say as I am directly after him? Are you under the impression that you should be more inclined to reraise with Kings in later positions? |
