Very bad run

Over the last 2 months or so, I've lost about 12 buyins at the 100 level. I am still profitable at that game but I'm starting to have doubts about my abilities.

Whats the worst run you guys have had?

I dont think most of it was due to bad beats.

Example from last night. :

I've been running the table fairly well. Table is generally weak tight. Villain in this hand is New at table, out of like 10 hands he's 30/5 or so

100NL 6max, I raise on the cutoff to 4xBB with 23s when folded to me. fold to the big blind villain who calls.

flop : 3 3 Q rainbow.

Villain pushes in for 95.

call?

come on now- without a doubt!

are you putting him on the 4th 3 in a 6 man game? or QQ? i guess open-pushing with the absolute nuts is a move that is used pretty often ... but i could easily see AA KK AQ (even worse hands i.e. QJ JJ TT) do something similar

you cant fold a 3 here IMO

I'm seeing some sort of correlation here.

P.S. fold.

more like 19.

I don't know how all you guys have 25+ vpips. I suspect its because you guys are calling raises when in position with suited connectors.

I raise these when folded to or 1 limper in position but I typically don't like calling a pfr with them.

I'm pretty sure I remember you saying you were like 19 vpip 11 pfr or something similar.

yes thats about right. I'm certainly not LAG. Perhaps my postflop play needs work.

I'm running at about 24/10 right now. I think calling raises with SC's could be some of the difference as I will do that.

To add some substance to my post. I haven't been playing these 100NL 6max tables long yet so I don't have any super bad runs to report. I did loose almost 4 buy ins the first night I played the same game on stars. Most from a high variance play pushing a double gutter + flush draw which didn't hit. Followed by what I think was some questionable play. When I first started playing 6max at the 50 tables I dropped 10 buy-ins in my first month. That's my worst run. Getting that into the green felt pretty good.
