Question for steps players

Let's say you normally buy in at level 2,3 or 4. What do you do when you "win" a level 1 buy-in? If you normally buy-in at level 4 it seems kind of silly to play a $12 buy-in tournament. Can you pool level 1 wins to use at a higher step?

I'm teaching a friend of mine how to play $10+$1 SNGs on Party so I actually play some of my Step 1 freerolls. Reminds me of the large difference between the levels I usually play at and the $11 level. Or I'll play them when I'm drunk or distracted. I've also used them as outlets for frustration - the old go allin every hand approach. Good times.

I wonder what the people who buy into the 1k's like gigabet and gambloholic do with all the step 3's and 4's they've saved up from busting out of the money @ step 5. They could prolly sell their accounts after withdrawing all their money to someone...

Hey Paul,

I was hoping to see some answers to your post because I was wondering the same thing. I did my first step tourney this weekend and was lucky enough to make it to round 5. I'm not the best SnG player so there was definitely some luck involved. I was debating on whether to use the winnings to replay round 4 twice at hopes of winning two round 5s. Round 4 seems to be the easiest with 1/2 the table going to round 5. Unfortunately, I opted to play round 5 and went out in 7th. Any thoughts on this anyone?

Re: Question for steps players

I'm assuming so. Like I said this was my first step tourney. The chips won in step 4 are enough for one step 5 or two step 4s. I don't see how the site can differentiate what you use these chips for. Anyone tried this?

As far as I know all you get when you place in a Step 4 is a free roll to a step 5. You can't do anything else with it. I assume you are talking about Party Poker.
