PS DeepStack, Am I a Donkey?

Not only did I bust out during the 1st level, it was mere minutes into the level, maybe all of 7 minutes, 420 seconds into the tourney...

I'd been watching the first few hands closely and he was limping into them all and had just won w decent pot with a raggy 2-pair....I knew he wasn't on a Set, I KNEW I had him!

Do you make this move, 10-1 your way, with his cards face up? Am I donkey for putting it all on the line at this point? This wasn't a case of me hoping he has the only hand I could beat, I genuinely had the gut feeling, as sure as one can be without actually seeing the cards, that I had him beat.

NOT meant for that at all, honestly!

As the discussion with AA early in a deep stack like the WSOP Main, and the same situation applied, 10-1 favorite, and you knew, would you make the call?

Maybe I'm making too much out of this, thanks....but not meant to be a bad-beat post, and if so determined, please delete and I'll shuffle off to the next hand

Yes, you should wait until you are at least a 20-1 favorite before committing all your chips. Now don't ask again.

Most of the time when a discussion about laying down as a favorite occurs, there are 2 things involved.

1st, you are not usually a big favorite during those discussions. Anytime your opponect has 4 or less outs with one card to go, you should get all your money in you can. Hell, sell some [censored], and get even more money in the pot.

2nd, The whole thing also relies on the idea that you are among the best tourney players in an event. So later your edge might be higher. I don't know you, so I can't say. But most of the people posting in this forum would not think they are among the best of the players remaining. Certainly above many, but truly thinking you are one of the top people in a tourney early is a stretch most can't make.

It's spreading...

Wow, yeah, lay this one down every time. In fact you should just open fold on the flop.

By the way, if you know you have somebody beat by a large margin, you should risk all of your chips no matter what point in the tournament it is.

Why does everyone think it is so obvious to go allin with aces up for 250xBB? I think if OP had posted this without results you would get a reasonable discussion rather a lot of smart ass answers. The fact that villain had a lower 2-pair and hit a 4-outer is irrelevant.
