A reason to argue for ID in the US

Because the quicker and more effective the spread of ID in the US the more likely the US economy will decline as it slips into a mini-dark age and so the rest of the more rational world will propsper more than otherwise.

Do you think the U.S.'s economic lead was built on a superior elementary education system?

Economic prosperity goes hand-in-hand with economic freedom. So if you or the rest of the world wants to close the gap, then start reducing government meddling in the free market. Until then, you can mock the U.S. education system all you want, but you won't be able to beat it (so long as the U.S. doesn't continue to foolishly close the freedom gap).

More rational? Seems to me there's plenty of irrationality to go around.
