What sites for Heads Up Play?
 

Hello, I'm a newbie to the zoo so my questions may have been answered already but I tried using the search feature and it was a complete mess.

I'm looking to deposit about $500 onto a site that offers low limit heads up holdem games. I was looking at UltimateBet, but I've heard the games there are tough. Someone suggested the Prima sites, but most heads up games they offer are no-limit, and I prefer limit, however I will do the prima sites if there aren't any other good choices.

I also want the site I sign up at to have a good deposit bonus, probably at least $100 if I'm going to deposit $500. Also, I understand it is a taboo subject here, but how should I go about getting a rake back affiliate? And if I don't have poker tracker, will they still be able to keep track of my rake?

Thanks in advance, I hope this doesn't get blown off the first page right away because I really need to know this stuff.

PokerStars has 2c-4c heads up limit holdem, and some heads up tournaments though they are not as popular. Primas (Expekt.com seemed honest and the skin is one of the best especially for EU players, then there's the most popular Prima that's good too, though one person did not like its skin) have heads up action 0.5-1 that might not have too big a rake and one seemed to get opponents there. Other than that shorthanded rates to be better. Heads up overall is quite dead because the rake is too high and any fish is playing correctly before the flop and from much part after too, more so as he rates to adjust better than at shorthanded games.

I will check out Expekt. I am not in Europe if that makes a difference. I already have the Gaming Club and Royal Vegas software downloaded from awhile ago.

I am sad to hear about the high rake for heads up games, I did not expect that since The UB 300/600 HU is raked .50 per pot. I know that higher limits are raked proportionally much less than lower limits, but this rake is alot better than the full 150/300 rake which is something like $3 a pot.

This statement I completely disagree with for a variety of reasons, which I will talk about if you want to. Heads Up poker can be far more profitable than full and even short-handed for good players.

Yeah, I think I speak for all of us when I say that the reason I don't play full 150/300 is the harsh rake.

try bodog- they have pretty good bonuses, and good and loose HU action for holdem. the software is lightning-fast- i recently got in over 450 hands in one hour of HU stud/8 there- so if you like to play fast...

they also have a sportsbook... win it at poker, throw it away betting basketball... lather, rinse, repeat.

My point was that heads up games are raked less proportionally.

I don't think this is quite what you're looking for, but if you go to sportingbet/aces it's pretty easy to get a heads up tournament going..

I am pretty positive from the popularity of heads up limit holdem game and from my 10,000 hands collections of some top heads up (and shorthanded) players that it's not a very good game, but when there's (practically) no rake it's worth 2 big bets per 100 hands for the best players at highest limits. At lower one can find worse players at least some of the time, but the rake pretty much fucks it all.

It may only be worth 2BB/100 (I don't have a database to compare this to), but when your getting in well over 100 hands per hour, that seems better than making 2BB/100 at full or 6-max with less rake and far less hands per hour.
