What made you fold that hand? Easy preflop call in my book when raiser is laying you a possible 20:1.

If the raise is 5% or less of your and the raisers total stack then you should call with any pocket pair. Implied odds.

Yup. Your opponent has just enough in his stack to possibly make this call. Having to call $2.75 he needs to have at least $55 behind. But after his raise he only has $54.65 so I guess the fold is okay.

But just because you don't like something doesn't mean the fold is right.

even OOP against a loose pre-flop raiser? (who's not gonna pay me off every time I hit my set)

Re: I hate poker

Position doesn't matter if you flop a set. It's even easier with a hand like 22 because you either set or fold. If it's 7.5 to 1 to flop set or better than you only need to make $20.62 or more off of him postflop to make the call. ($2.75 x 7.5)

But sometimes you'll hit and lose so maybe $2.75 x 8 is better or $22. Plus that's easier to calculate at the table.

If you flop a set don't go for a check/raise, bet right into him about the pot and hope he raises. That's how you get his whole stack. If it's a typical opponent at $50 NL with an overpair or TPTK.

I agree with most everything everyone has said.

If this was a limit hand and it was 3-bet or capped by the time it got back to you you have to fold. But not necessarily in NL.

Always pay attention to the stacks of the people in the hand. Do they have enough behind them to pay me off big if I hit? Plus, in this case, you have two villains seeing the flop with you.

LEVERAGE LEVERAGE LEVERAGE LEVERAGE.

holding 22 on a typical 27T flop or whatever, is HUGE. If just one of your opponents have an overpair like QQ or KK, you may be able to get his whole stack. And because two people called large raises PF, you can almost be certain that one of them holds a high PP.

Good luck. Remember, it's not about winning pots. It's about winning money. LEVERAGE!
