Essay request - Making deals.

I was wondering if one of the veterans players here (sirio maybe? I know you got a strong opinion about not taking chip chops when shortstacked) can help us with some sort of essay about deal making. I made a few chops already, but mostly were done blindly, without knowing if this was really the right way to chop.

I think alot of us could really use some sort of manual about this subject.

Thanks in advance for anyone who's willing to take it on himself.

Yuv,

TPFAP gives probably the best analysis of deal making you will be able to find. I recommend checking it out if you haven't yet.

I was also interested in this, and about to make a post about it.. such things I'd be interested in are.. what should the shortstack be looking for? what should the big stack be looking for? etc etc.

If someone wants to write a concise paragraph on the subject, it would be a great addition to the FAQ.

Sklansky gives a formula for how to chop in TPFAP. It usually isn't good to make deals if you feel you are a superior player (unless the blinds are so big that skill no longer plays a major role).

Actually the discussion of deal-making in TPFAP is not that accurate, except for heads-up deals.

Here are some threads with discussion of various points of view:
