Because if you lose to either of them YOU ARE OUT, GET NO MONEY, EQUITY 0, etc.

Whereas if you fold either of them WILL LOSE, WILL HAVE 5 CHIPS/0 CHIPS, YOU GET ITM BY DEFAULT, EQUITY $$$, etc.

Come on - this is SIMPLE stuff!
