Party Poker Account Frozen

I am a new online poker player and recently opened a partypoker account. I won a couple hundred bucks and wanted to pull out some to neteller. As soon as I did that my account was frozen. I called up the number and they said my computer was being used by like 15 different people. I know thats basically impossible, I am the only one that uses my computer to play. Has anyone ever run into this problem before?

Also, they want me to fax my driver's license to them for verification. I am always reluctant to give away personal information, is pay-pro legit?

Photocopy your DL and whiteout any info you don't want to share and then fax it.

Does anyone know how they verify what computer you are playing with? I specifically asked whether it was the same IP or computer and the guy said computer. Is it possible I am being hacked in some way? I think my computer is pretty secure, hardware firewall, antivirus, scanned regularly etc...

Plus, why would anyone hack me to just play partypoker through my computer....

Listen: you have 2 posts. Just fess up to us here as to what you did and you might get some objective advice on what you should do. Don't play games, and post half-truths hoping you'll be able to decipher the correct answer to your problems.

People here have been around the block. First time posters who claim to have innocuously gotten their accounts frozen are a dime a dozen, and the # of them who actually turned out to have done something shady is higher than you'd believe.

do what they say, I messed up early and referred myself, then got drunk and blew the referral bonus, I filled out a prefferred player app, closed one account and all was well.

Lol, you've been registered here all of a month and a half. I know you'd like to think you know what you're talking about, but i'll save you the trouble. You don't.

This guy may actually be legit. The track record of first-time posters suggests otherwise.

Thanks for the help. Alright you got me, I admit everything.... No really. I actually wasnt doing anything, somehow there are random accounts somehow linked to my computer. And if you arent going to give any constructive advice, how about not talking at all....

Doesn't mean you have to be a dick to him just because he hasn't posted here as much as you. I can feel for this guy because I've had a very similar experience, and like he says, if you don't have anything constructive to say don't post. When people get F***ed over they don't want to here a bunch of people calling them a liar, they want help. Your 1200 posts doesn't make you a [censored] god.

Fax them your ID. Problem solved. Why are you so reluctant to do so?
Good luck to you.

I will when I get to work tomorrow. But I wanted to make sure it was all legit first of all, I am always leery of sending my info to people. Also, I wanted to know if this was a common problem so I dont have to go through the bs of wasting my time with them and having my account frozen again.

Happens a decent amount on a first cashout, as long as you prove you are real you are fine.

At Paradise they display both my external IP address and the internal IP address of my PC on my household network. I assume their intent is to subtly deter potential gnomes from using the same computer to setup multiple accounts.

Anyway, Paradise has had this info for years. No reason to think Party has any less. No doubt the client is collecting it directly from your PC.

Part of his post was him saying that he was concerned that Party told him others were using his computer for online poker. I would be concerned about this as well.

Re: Party Poker Account Frozen

I closed my party account last month and then opened another. Then they called to ask why I had done so and I told them. Then they told me that two other people also played from my computer. When I told them that those two people play from the same IP address and have never played from my particular computer, they so "no it is same computer"

So, they think same IP address = same computer. So, just fax them your info and all should be well. Something similar happened to me at RoyalVegas because I was overseas at the time, and as soon as I faxed info they unfoze my account.

Jon

how was teddy being a dick in his post?? he was stating a reality.

also, why in the world do you make the comment that you completely believe OP?? are you friends with this poster? do you know the details? is he in a dorm? a frat house? a coffee shop?

you are reinforcing the fact that you are just a troll every time you post.

hey akindo

everything party does is to ensure that all of our accounts are as safe as possible. i think you should password protect your computer to make sure that nobody else can log-on through your computer and also fax the info that party/pay-pro requested. their measures may seem to be a nuisance but it is for the best.

I feel bad for the guy because I went through the same thing , what a week ago? It sucks when you are asking for help and people are just saying what a liar you are the whole time. What is the reason to say something like "you ahve 2 posts therefore we all know you are lying" How is that not dick-like? And your comment about me troll posting? Hmmmmmmmmmm, don't think so.

I guess you haven't been here long enough to see what Teddy is talking about.

Just about everytime a frozen account story gets posted it's by someone with 1 or 2 posts. Doesn't mean much, but with one post you have 0 credibility here. Wether you like it or not, that's how things work around here.

Then they go on to tell a story about how they are accused of doing something against T&C, but they deny any doing so. I'd say atleast 75% of the time they did do what they're being accused of. So Teddy was just being blunt, and trying to get the OP to confess if he had done anything. This makes it a lot easier for the Zoo to give advice rather than just beating around the bush.

Also FWIW I've signed up at and played for real money at probably 12-15 poker sites. I've also changed my address several times (moving from the dorms to home, from home to my own place, etc.), and I've never had any account frozen. So it's hard for me to believe that sites just freeze accounts out of some crazy assumption of something that never happened.
