Backing Up I-Tunes downloaded TV shows?

I don't have an IPOD, but i've downloaded a few episodes of bstar galactica via itunes to my laptop. I now need to format and cannot figure out how to backup the episodes, itunes only allows me to burn music to cds. I don't want to lose them, can anyone help? I tried clicking and dragging the files elsewhere, but I'm not sure this will work. Thanks.

you should be able to change them to another format

first find the files on your computer(most likely in an itunes folder)

then figure out what format they are

now go to google and type free .XXX converter(where xxx is the format)
use whatever program you find to convert them to:
.avi
.mov
.mpeg
.wmv (<---i think never use windows media vids)
anyone of those u can play in windows media player quicktime or real player respectivly.
