DSL disconnect every 24 hours - IP address change?

Hi

I got my DSL connection this week, used to play with dialup. Last night at 12pm I got disconnected from my poker sites (including at 5-10 no disconnect protection table!!!). I then couldnt log into any type of server e.g. poker site or Messenger. I restarted my pc and modem, nothing worked. This morning everything is working fine again.

I phoned my ISP, they say that the IP address autmoatically changes at that time and that there is no solution for this. How can this be possible?

Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks
PS Im in South Africa, not USA broadband

If possible, you should change ISP's. There is no technical reason that they would have to change IP addresses every day at midnight. It is apparently a stupid company policy. The fact that they are unwilling to offer a solution shows that they don't really want your business.

if that's their policy, there's nothing you can do other than changing isps or not playing during their scheduled downtime.
