preflop, i thought about raising but decided on keeping the pot small instead and hoping to flop a set or even the best hand, i'll ususally raise here about 70% of the time.

whats your move on the flop when he bets out?

I raised him to 800 all day to define my hand, get the other guy out, and see where he was at. he called. the turn was the Ah

and he led out for 300 Now theres 2200 in the pot with his bet. What's your play here? ill post my results later. thanks for the input.

for this reason I usually jam the chips pre-flop and make a big c-bet on the flop.

that's certainly reasonable but its been my experience weak leads = villain has hit their hand.

If you raise someone, you always have to have a plan if they call or reraise. if your trying to "see where your at" with a raise, then you have to have a plan once you see. if hes gonna bet that small (turn), i may just go into check call mode. Your limp is creating problems now tho, and if you arent comfortable with post flop play like this, then i suggest you start raising 100% of the time. I think your ahead here enough to call to the river. His range is pretty big.

I hardly ever open limp, and especially not at this level so I'd raise pf.

Given the opponents stack size you should probably call and reevaluate the turn.

Raise PF. Raise to 850 on the flop. Raise to 1100 on the turn and go from there. I put him on a pair+gutshot type hand as most likely.

Blinds are 50/100 and there are 2 limpers of which you are one. So the pot has 150+100+100=350.

He leads out for 300, you have an overpair and missed your set. The pot is 350+300=650. Who knows what he has. Probably not a set, maybe an overpair or maybe weak ace giving him 33 66 or 77 with Ace kicker.

You 4065 (100 in, yet to call 300)

In my view this is borderline and there are better spots. You missed the chance to raise preflop and set up a post-flop continuation in position.

Dont call off your money here now.

Either fold or make a decent type raise. Have a plan if he repops you and have a plan for the turn if he just calls.

You called the 300 flop. OK. Now the turn comes the A overcard and he bets again. He limped in, bet the flop and bet the overcard A turn. Admit it is over and get out. Preserve your substantial chipstack and look to engineer a better situation than this. This appears to be gambling at unfavorable odds.

Call me tight. I missed my chance preflop and now I am done in light of this scenario.
