Read this if you want overlays in the Happy Hour tourney

Short and sweet: Empire determines the amount of tables available for an event around 2-4 minutes before it starts, based on either 8 or 9 people per table. After those tables are open, Empire allows registrations up to their max capacity, then shuts it regardless of who else wants in.

Example: If 60 people have registered at 9:56, Empire will open up around 8 tables. If 80 people have registered, they will probably open up 10.

Therefore, the proper thing to do is wait to register until right after the tables open up, kinda like bid sniping on Ebay - the fewer tables there are, the better the overlay. Since half the tournament is 2+2 these days we can probably force them to overlay it a lot

Alternatively, just don't play it at all

Yeah I do this almost everytime with the guaranteed tourneys on Empire. But the safest thing to do is to not play them. I think you, Chief, and Jurollo should just play it safe next time. Deal?
