girls?
 

I play more poker than most, not as much as some, but it's all online. I'd say for every hour of play, I put in an hour of reading books, posts, working PT, etc. So, putting in 30hrs/wk would actually take 60hrs/wk. This makes playing semi-pro or pro a time-consuming ordeal.

I figure playing poker in a casino may be another option, I'd have a chance to meet more people. Ever meet new friends or girls in a casino that you've had a chance to get to know outside of poker? This includes girls playing poker, waitresses, whoever.

Why don't more girls play poker? Do they also have hobbies that consume their lives?

Girls usually don't have as many hobbies as guys. They also usually don't have as much money as guys, and they usually don't stay up as late. Girls that are exceptions to this and that have a little gamble in them are prime candidates for playing poker.

I met this girl at the Mirage this past weekend.. she was hot, nice, and bad at poker... but she was super cool.. unfortunately she was there with her husband... but he didn't seem to mind all of our chatting

Guys bond over competition - sports/video games, girls bond more on relationship/clique issues. Poker has historically been a guy bonding thing (poker night). Girls need to be brought into the game by someone they know and trust like a relative or boyfriend. There seems to be a similar % of girls interested in poker as girls interested in video games.

As a general rule, any hot chick you spot anywhere in the casino (not working of course) is either with her boyfriend or husband or waiting for her boyfriend or husband

I played with this asian chick in her late 20's one night at the trop last summer. We were having fun and getting hammered. But she turned out to be a real violent drunk and got kicked out of the poker room when she flipped out after losing a hand to this idiot across the table.

Me. 21 year old girl, I play almost everyday between online and local live games, occasional stints off to casinos. I'm usually the only girl at the table though, and if there's another female there, she's usually 30+ years older than I.

I don't know why more girls don't play poker. I should be happy about that, you'd think with the 9:1 male female ratio I'd be able to get a date or two, but no luck with that. [img]/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img]

5% of poker players are long-term winners, so it stands to reason that if it's true for both sexes and very few girls play poker, your odds of running into a good female player are 1:19.

Seriously, if you're looking for attractive chicks that like to gamble, go to the race track - that's where everyone tells me they all hang out.

Highly dependant on the track. Saratoga or Del Mar sure. Charlestown or Suffolk (where I used to work) not so much.

I've sweated my girl playing poker before. She is an excellent tournament player (not terrible at cash games, but we both know where her strength is). She has a good solid understanding of the game and a good strong understanding of how stupid men treat her differently. It makes a pretty good combination.

I guess theoretically I mer her playing poker. She was dating a friend of mine and he made the mistake of bringing her over.

i don't know why one would want a poker playing GF in the first place.

agreed that you need to get out more and meet some girls OUTSIDE the poker/casino environment.

there's WAY too much in life to be enjoyed to spend much of it in a poker-room hoping that a worthwhile girl happens to waltz into your life.
