Stupid noob question regarding low hands

I am struggling with the concept of the low hand. Every now and then, I will be certain I have a low hand and someone will scoop the pot with the high hand.

Most of this is due to the fact that I don't know what I am doing.

Okay here is the stupid question.

If you scoop the pot with both the high and the low, will the chat window say you won both or does it just say you won x$ with x Hand?

I know that if you quarter someone or get quartered, the chat window tells who won.

what I am tryig to figure out is, am I misreading my hand and there wasn't a low or if there was a low but I got scooped by a high hand and a better low.

will the chat window tell me when I get scooped by a better low or do I have to figure it out on my own?

I am playing on Hollywood poker for the most part but played one session on Party last night.

On Party the chat window will outline both the low and the high winning hands, even if it's scooped. No clue about Hollywood.

You must be reading either your own hand or the board incorrectly.

thanks, I believe that is what is happening. I have only been playing Omaha about two weeks and I am a fish.

Most sites I've seen will tell you that no low hand qualified if you scoop the pot with a high hand.

Your problem is probably that you are messing up with the rule requiring you to use two cards from your hand and three from the board. This is a common problem area for begiiners.

Not to state the obvious, but some hands don't have a low. Meaning of the players going to showdown, there aren't 5 different value low cards of which 3 must come from the board and 2 must come from the player's hand.

Hi Steam,
I've never played on Hollywood but I bet that you should spend all of your time playing LO8 on Party.

Also, Party tells you what the low hand is or that no low hand qualified in those situations. It's amazing how often you can misread the board in this crazy game.

Although for most people, I'd say they can figure this out within two weeks of play.
